Erekat
[edit]hi, i'm fairly new here, but i put a lot of effort into the few edits i've made... i made sure to place a good measure of fact double crossing and links so that the input i introduce is within' the highest of standarts
all the input i added to the topic Saeb Erekat was removed by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Rama .. i do not know the protocols very well, and havn't yet figured out the reverting system or the complaints system.. she categorically removed each part of the article i added.. and if you look it up it had a lot of backing and is very important to the character of the person.
without it, he's portraied as a succesfull and articulate peace negotiator... which does not cover the extent of his background.
i may find how to revert this and do it.. but i do not know how to warn people not to erase things for no reason.. i hope to get a reply from you soon.

- Have left a message with Rama And hope we can start a discussion on this issue, on the Talk Page soon. Cheers Khukri (talk . contribs) 20:14, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- I gave a pretty long ass reply on the Saeb Erekat talk page[1] .. not sure i explained myself 100% but i'd appreciate your input there also.
Leet vandalism?
[edit]I was told that the addition i put to Leet was vandalism and that it was nonesense....its not nonesense. I've been playing MMORPG's since they were first created and I know what i'm talking about. I know the difference between Noob and Newbie (I added in the difference but it was considered nonesense) noob being offensive and newbie being state of fact. Also the smaller differences such as newb (little more offensive then newbie) and n00b(whoeve spells it that way generally is considered arrogant). So what did i do wrong? can you please specify so that I may not make such an error again?

- Thanks for your message, and I have reverted your warning. I only saw your last edit to the the article and saw the statement "It is known as a very incompetent and pathetic cowardly thing to do." which is inflammatory and WP:NPOV. Occasionally mistakes do occur whilst sifting through the many vandalisms that occur on wikipedia. But looking at your previous edits, I see that this was in context albeit contentiously worded. Please accept my apologise and feel free to re-add your edit (but maybe change the wording slightly). If you wish I can find your edit and copy it to your user page. Also if you wish to continue editing Wikipedia may I suggest you get an account, easily done, and this can help to avoid issues like this in the future. Any problems don't hesitiate to give me a shout. Cheers Khukri (talk . contribs) 08:56, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi Netsnipe, I'm just letting you know I think there may have been an injustice done with the the block applied to the above user. Admitedly I haven't checked all his edits in detail, but the last couple of hours, himself and 4 other editors (myself included) have been reverting alot of vandalism and WP:NPOV edits by User_talk:67.72.98.87 who is now blocked. Could you please revisit this decision or if it for reasons that I am not aware, please accept my apologise. Regards Khukri (talk . contribs) 19:29, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
- I didn't block Lordkazan, but I did block TripleH1976 for WP:3RR. The block notice on Lordkazan's page was a mistake and I've removed it. But anyway, I've asked another admin to review TripleH1976's block. -- Netsnipe ► 19:38, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

I recently edited Norwich City fc's page. I added to the nicknames secion "scummers and City. Both of these nicknames are true. Norwich are often refurred to as the "Scummers" by local rivals "Ipswich Town FC" You deleted the nicknames I added and I was just wondering why a I beleive them to be true. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.20.164.85 (talk • contribs)
- If you look around (google it) alot local rivalries call the other team scummers and I'm 90% sure you'll find it came from Southhampton for Portsmouth. Also it isn't a nickname like the canaries or gunners etc, it's an insult, hence the reason I removed it. By all means add city but that's only a local nickname for norwich i.e. City n Town. [edit]Release the hounds! Dasondas is vandalizing Circumcision see http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Circumcision&curid=6783&diff=74594757&oldid=74594205 - i have reverted 3 times and want to play it on the safe side Lordkazan 21:14, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- Whoa easy tiger. Good job you stepped back from the brink there. Have a look at his first change whilst stating the word law may be controversial, it isn't untrue. Next the phrase he removed starts with the classic weasel words many people which in that he is correct, unless fact can be cited then it is Original Research. IMHO I would leave it, if it's your article then I would read through WP:DR and if you aren't happy after that then go for the nuclear option with WP:RFAR. But two points warning him with vandalism will not get you anywhere. I had my wrist slapped for a similar thing few days back and in hindsight it's correct. It's not vandalism when you think about it. Something to you might seem obviously wrong, but that is no justification to change it. I know it's sometimes difficult but try to remember WP:GF. Second point, never revert to caps lock in a dispute, it's the metaphorical equivalent of throwing teddy out of the cot and then following it with the cot. I know it's not what you wanted to hear, but breath deeply and chill. If it stays there for a day or so while you get it resolved it's not a problem is it? Anyway take it easy and don't hesitate to give me a shout for another installment of stories with uncle Khukri. Cheers Khukri (talk . contribs) 21:50, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah i reported him to incidents lemme copy+paste my content from there, even if those things qualify under what you listed - that's not why he's removing them Lordkazan 21:56, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

I haven't reverted his latest vandalism because It could be seen as a content dispute. I consider it vandalism because he's blanking information and altering it in full knowledge that he is violating NPOV rules and has blasted anyone who disagrees with him as "a bigot" or a "symapthizer of a fringe group" or "ignorant of the religious significance" (even though I - who am an antireligious atheist have told him that I am in no way opposed to him volunarily getting himself circed and asked the rhetorical question that "would not voluntary circumcision when one is old enough to consent not be more religiously meaningful?") - i'm tired of his POV-pushing and his personal attacks on anyone who disagrees with him Lordkazan 21:43, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- Chill, There are 6 billion people out there and I most probably wouldn't agree with 99.99% percent of them on many things. But my POV is irrelevant here. Look up in my talk for a problem brought to my attention about the Saeb Erekat article and look at their talks. I have an opinion on it, but I'm not going to say what it is as it's irrelevant to the article. This is one appraoch you can take to resolving this, and if it doesn't get resolved state your case clearly with to the arbitration mob. Khukri (talk . contribs) 22:02, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi Khukri,
I see you gave an anonymous user a vandalism warning for removing a large amount of material from the page on Rashid Khalidi. I appreciate that it may be hard to tell if you are not familiar with the area, but the material in question was in fact highly tendentious and biassed, and removing it was perfectly in line with Wikipedia policy in general and policy on biographies of living people in particular. In fact it had also been vigorously contested on the talk page. Just to let you know. Cheers, Palmiro | Talk 18:33, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- As you say it's difficult to tell when 50 lines of article disappear without any edit commentary. Your message comes across as sarcastic, by the way, but I won't intepret it as such. (aeropagitica) 22:23, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Sorry didn't mean it to come across as sarky in the slightest. There's too few people looking out for vandalism IMHO, and I don't mean to insult in any way at all. My message just came about from 8.8.36.69 someone I'd been watching for a bit, and I saw you blocked him/her with a couple of others thats all. Don't take it in the wrong way at all, never meant as a criticism, it just helps those few of us non admins who do the occasional edits and patrol work. Cheers Khukri (talk . contribs) 22:31, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
- OK, be careful about using humour via e-mail/Talk pages because it is not always taken in the spirit in which it was meant by your readers! If you look at Special:Blockip/8.8.36.69, you will see that the IP address was blocked by Ahoerstemeier rather than myself. Can you direct your comments towards them, please? Perhaps I cleaned up WP:AIV when all of the IP addresses had been blocked and you picked my name from that instead. Goodnight! (aeropagitica) 22:40, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Conflict
[edit]Hi, I need your help! User AIUI continuously reverts the article Operation Atilla. The last time, while i was adding a reference from BBC online, a conflict occured and this conflict prevented my connection. I realised a minute later that i was somehow logged out (p/s: i tried to edit later and in the history page of the article i saw ip instead of my user name). Is it possible to prevent this user's editing this article? (this user is a suspected sock puppet or impersonator of User:YaR GnitS) cause he is reverting without reading my version and his version contains a historical mistake that can be realised from BBC online here[[2]]. I shall greatly appreciate if you inform me about the procedure should be followed. Thanx. E104421 15:09, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, the problem is over now. This user gave up reverting but i still do not know why i was logged out. I just wonder my log in failure. E104421 21:00, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
Re: 2 Warnings question
[edit]I was hoping nobody'd notice that, heh. The block notice is {{two}}. Another admin mentioned it to me on IRC, once; I plan to avoid using it when possible, since in some ways calling vandals and trolls names only enourages them. Just some cases are a bit... exasperating. I know it's a bit of a drag to have to do a full test1 through 4 set; I tend to give people two or three warnings if they're textbook vandals, or sometimes just one if they're obviously experienced at it. Vandalism and username blocks vary from admin to admin; different people will block over different things, although there's a pretty general consensus to avoid blocking if we can help it (preventive, not punitive, after all). Or something. Kinda rambling. See you around. :) Luna Santin 21:50, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

As I am relatively new to VandalProof, I don't always remember the exact text associated with the buttons. Maybe VP2 will have something like that.

democratic vandalism
[edit]Dear Khukri, I need your advice, cause i do not want to involve in any edit war but there is on going war against every turks/turkey related articles by users tekleni and hectorian. Actually, i'm trying not to take them into account but i'm confronting with these users almost all the turks/turkey related articles. I'll give you a recent example. The article Turkish Republic of Western Thrace is merged with the article Republic of Gumuljina by user tekleni (who is supported by user hectorian) without building any consensus on the talk/discussion page (even without any note, so quickly). These greek nationalists (can be realized from their contributions history) are now trying to delete the article. If you investigate their contributions history, you'll immediately discover that these users are trying to dispute everything related with turks/turkey related subjects. Wikipedia should not be a propaganda or advertisement service for turkish hostility. What should we do? E104421 06:23, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry, I don't have the time to look through all their contributions, but I have to say looking quickly at the talk pages I don't see alot of contention. I'm not an expert on the subject so bear with me pleae. Give me examples of where your problems are, I'll have a look into it. I also can't see any discussion from you on the subject or much interaction. Cheers Khukri (talk . contribs) 09:36, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, there was a edit war on that article, and i decided not to involved in, but just wrote my observations to you. I also commented the same to Alex. He involved in the issue, merged the articles and histories of the articles and removed the nomination for deletion. The issue, i hope, is over for this article. However, i often see the names of the same people who attack turks/turkish related articles in an organized way. Actually, i hate edit wars, but i also want to prevent these kind of edit wars. What should i do? Should i check their edit histories all the time? E104421 10:48, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
FYI: User:Khukri/templates is currently showing up in Category:Requests for unblock. -- Netsnipe ► 16:19, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- Cheers for that, I'm trying to create a page to reduce the size of WP:UTM using templates to reflect what is shown on WP:TT. Looking through alot of the templates there are inconsistancies. I re-worked a couple, but soon realised that without a comprehensive page, it would never be harmonised. But 1 page is just too big for it all hence my grand plan ;). Just thought I'd explain in case you thought I was up to any ol' mischief. Anyway how can I get round that warning or should I just nowiki it until I'm prepared to unveil it or it goes live? Have you tried using <noinclude>? -- Netsnipe ► 16:33, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
compromise
[edit]Hi, Khukri. Everything related with the dispute i mentioned above is progressing in a wonderfull way. The user Fut.Perf. is involved in the issue to compromise. We started to discuss the issue on the talk/discussion page of Fut.Perf.. I hope we'll solve the dispute and put an end to unfortunate edit wars. Kind regards, E104421 18:29, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Re: Gakhar page reverts
[edit]Thankyou so much for being vigilant and taking away things that are not supposed to be written, seems like anyone will create stuff or would love to add their names to the sites not realizing that what effect it would have, (confusion), so once again thankx a zillion for being there watching out of retards and their comments.
Godspeed

Thanks re AfD on Andy Stephenson
[edit]Hi. Thanks for your message, and for doing all that work on the AfD puppetry. I like the grounds you gave for your vote, too. Cheers, CWC(talk) 12:08, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- Unfortuntely, IMHO though it's a very poor reason for not having an article in an encyclopedia. There is a chance that he could meet WP:BIO, but two of the three tenants of are 1 Verifiability & Neutral point of view, which I believe this article will never meet. Also the vote loading is just an indication of who ever tries to take it on will be in a struggle. I'll keep an eye on it till it's concluded. Warning templates
[edit]I'd be happy to help where I can - I am being careful about making additional commitments right now; however, because I am not sure how my time schedule will go. I've added Khukri/templates to my watchlist :) --Trödel 20:54, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
